An strong Funded Proposal is the key component of any effective online sales funnel system. You will make more money, make it faster and easier if you have a Funded Proposal that sells well.

The ideal Funded Proposal is a product with high real value to your ideal prospects, but very low cost so that you can sell it for much less than it’s worth to your ideal prospects. This allows you to “lead with value” and earn not just commissions, but also respect and trust, from the 90% of your prospects who will never join your primary business or buy your products. It’s a way to MONETIZE your list as you BUILD your list.

Most new marketers make the mistake of trying to sell their primary opportunity or their product BEFORE they have established any kind of relationship. And then if the prospect doesn’t join or buy, they never follow up or stay in touch.

Remember, nobody likes to be “sold”… but they love to BUY.

Its like a guy asking a girl to marry him on the first date. It might work once in a while, but not often… and he will almost certainly miss the best prospects

According to SalesForce.com, only 3% of your prospects are ready to buy right now. Another 10% will consider buying now, and 63% will buy within one year if you stay in touch in a professional manner. 82% will buy within 2 years if you stay in touch.

A Funded Proposal allows you to build a relationship FIRST and collect their real email address so you can stay in touch using an auto-responder (automated email system) that will drip on them and bring them back when they are ready to do business with you.

It’s called a “Funded Proposal” because buying it is a “no-brainer” for almost everyone in your target market, so you have a high conversion rate and lots of small sales. This should include compelling sales videos, order page with payment processing, and most importantly, a done-for-you lead capture and follow up system. In other words, you want a complete system, not just a product. And it needs to be SIMPLE to use so it doesn’t take much knowledge or time.

And finally, there needs to be complete training on how to use your Funded Proposal system, along with a great support team and a community of like minded individuals (because you really can’t do this alone… it’s a ‘team game’).

This “Ah Ha” moment came during a private webinar tonight that David Wood and David Sharp, (the founders of Empower Network), put on for the top tier folks in EN.  That webinar went on for THREE HOURS.   I actually left after an hour and a half to have dinner and when I came back they were STILL going. I’m going to catch the part I missed when the recording is up later this week because it was some VERY good info on how to create content that your audience actually looks forward to receiving.  What a thought!

The key, of course, is to write (or speak) for your audience.  How can you GIVE VALUE?   How can you ENTERTAIN them while you do that so they eagerly look forward to your next post or article?   David Wood is all about giving value.  It’s built into the DNA of the Empower Network.   And he is one of the most entertaining marketers online.

He said that his success has been based on creating content in the form of a STORY and letting his sales message just be like ads in a TV show… you watch the ad because you are into the story and you want to gt back to it. In creating content, both written and video, he suggested that you just let the ad “hang around” your compelling content like it does on this blog (both on the top and on the right side).

But the thing that gave me that “Ah Ha” moment…. that “blinding flash of thee obvious”, was an analogy that Chris Dougherty. Chris was the first of 4 great speakers that David Wood had lined up for this kickoff webinar in 7 week the Masters Series called “The 15K Per Month Formula”.

You see Chris is a “newbie”, but he ad two things going for him… he was open to learning and being coachable, and he stumbled across David Wood and plugged into one of his training programs.

By the time Empower Network was launched on Oct 31 of this year, Chris had already been studying under David Wood for several months and he had built the beginning of his list … he had 150 or so subscribers.   Four weeks into the launch, he had leveraged that tiny list  into $22,625 in commissions.
